It's very strange to read through the words that you wrote 30 years ago. Trying to recognize that girl is hard, because so much light has been shed on those times and as an adult you have insight into the life around that girl, so you can never return to her perspective, because it's full in understanding.
I'm about to throw all of these books away. Heart covered, teddy bear be-speckled and on with a "lock". But I also realize that in the ramblings of a girl desperate to have value, I should remember her. So, I'm going to put down some of the thoughts here. Maybe I can share it with my grandchildren, maybe I can remember something about her.
I definitely talked/wrote to my diaries like they were about to become my best friends. In my first one I introduced myself in the cover. I am a dork.
:Well, since we're going to be friends. My name is Leah (Lucas) Jozen, I'm 12 years old, in the 6th grade, and I love attention from boys:

"This morning I got home from babysitting the Terry's kids, I got paid $10. Now altogether I have $23.42, my sister Danielle has $3.00, she wants us both the share my money. As usual when I come home after babysitting my room is a mess and I have to clean it. It's late and I'll be going to bed soon. My uncle came over and he's playing Nintendo! I went over to the Swanson's and watched some VCR tapes and played Rumykub. My sister, Danielle got to sleep over there. Jeana and I just finished making a snowman light brite. Happy New Year."

"BAD DAY!"

"Today was o.k.this morning at about 11am my mom & dad went to Cindy & Danny's for a bible study. Danielle, Jeana and I stayed home and played while Kayla and Sheela slept. We hid from each other and played UPWORD, when my parents got home we pretended that we had been working. Later my mom and I went to the store and got a bunch of stuff, came home and went to bed. Today wasn't too good, or bad."
